Case of deaths of 13 patients of COVID hospital in Rostov-on-Don reaches the court

Within the case of 13 deaths in October 2020 of COVID-19 patients due to absence of oxygen, Anna Kolenova, a deputy chief physician of the Rostov Hospital No. 20, is accused. She has been charged with negligence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October 2020, Head of the Russian Ministry of Public Health, Mikhail Murashko, instructed the "Roszdravnadzor" (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare) to examine the cause of death of 13 COVID-19 patients at Hospital No. 20 in Rostov-on-Don. On October 27, Tatyana Bykovskaya, the regional public health minister, and Nadezhda Levitskaya, head of the Rostov healthcare department, were fired.

The Sovietsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don has received the criminal case on the fact of the death in October 2020 at the above hospital within the City Hospital No. 20 of 13 patients, due to oxygen supply interruptions, the "donday.ru" wrote on September 16.

The dock keeps Anna Kolenova, a deputy chief physician for technology and economic matters of the above Hospital No. 20. She is accused of negligence.

According to investigators, Kolenova was obliged to establish an uninterrupted supply of oxygen in the hospital, but did not control how timely her subordinates documented and submitted applications for the supply of medical oxygen. Because of that, at night on October 11, 2020, the pressure in the oxygen supply system dropped, and for forty minutes the supply was completely absent.
