Military analysts dispute on Chechnya's leadership in number of fighters sent to Ukraine
Chechnya is not standing out from other regions in terms of the number of fighters sent to Ukraine, Alexander Khramchikhin has stated. In his turn, Vasily Dandykin believes that Chechnya is the main supplier of fighters to Ukraine. Gennady Gudkov agreed with him, linking this trend with the low living standard in the republic.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 6, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that "several thousand determined volunteers and elite fighters" were preparing to be sent to Ukraine.
Employees of law enforcement bodies are forced to go to Ukraine, the author of a comment posted on the "Caucasian Knot" has noted. "A relative of a friend of mine has recently complained that he, a police officer with many years of service, the father of minor children, was forcibly transferred from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) to a new unit of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and forced to go to Ukraine ... There are dozens of similar cases; thus, Kadyrov's statements about the 'waiting line of those eager to serve,' moreover, to take part in the "special operation", to put it mildly, are a bit exaggerated," the user karima_kilback has written.
Chechnya is not standing out from other regions in terms of the number of fighters sent to Ukraine, Alexander Khramchikhin, a military expert, asserts. According to his story, not only citizens living in Chechnya, but also Chechens from other Russian regions are ready to volunteer for the military operation.
Earlier, on May 13, the Chechen human rights association “Vayfond” reported that they received messages from dozens of Chechen residents who asked for help to leave Russia in order to avoid being sent to Ukraine.
The battalions formed by Kadyrov are made up of the Chechens living all over Russia, Vasily Dandykin, another military expert, agrees. He has noted that mobilization has not been announced in Russia, so military forces are formed on the voluntary basis.
In the opinion of Gennady Gudkov, a former State Duma MP, Chechnya is the main supplier of soldiers to Ukraine. "Residents of the poorest regions are coming there en masse. Chechnya, unfortunately, is one of them," he has pointed out.
