Resident of Volgograd Region detained for recruiting into ranks of terrorists

In the Volgograd Region, law enforcers have detained a local resident suspected of recruiting an Uzbek citizen into the ranks of the "Islamic State" (IS)*.

"A 29-year-old local resident has been detained for inciting a citizen of Uzbekistan to participate in the activities of the 'Islamic State' (IS)*, an international terrorist organization," the local FSB branch has announced.

A case has been initiated against the detainee under the article "Assistance to terrorist activities". During a search, law enforcers seized a mobile phone with the coordinates of the alleged drug stashes, the "Interfax" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 1, a court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of the Stavropol Territory to five years in prison for recruiting a minor to the IS* and publicly justifying terrorism.
