Kadyrov orders not to pay social allowance to families of those who refused to serve

Ramzan Kadyrov has stated that families of low-income residents of Chechnya, whose young people refused to be enrolled in the new Chechen military units, should be deprived of social benefits. The leader of Chechnya called the refuseniks parasites. At the same time, Magomed Daudov, the chair of the Chechen parliament, said that Ramzan Kadyrov spent 20 billion roubles from “his own pocket” for the purpose of the special military operation in Ukraine.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 26, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that four battalions of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) would appear in Chechnya, including “Sever-Akhmat”, “Yug-Akhmat”, “Zapad-Akhmat”, and “Vostok-Akhmat”, which would enrol “exclusively Chechen guys.”

In July, it became known about the involvement of imams in the recruitment of the law enforcement bodies in Chechnya. Work in this area has become unpopular because of the special military operation in Ukraine, analysts suggest.

In May, Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, reported about cases of forcible departure of Chechen residents to Ukraine.

Magomed Daudov, the chair of the Chechen parliament, reported that young people from low-income families generally refused to be enrolled in the new Chechen military units.

“Out of 188 young guys who can work and are able to work, only three agreed,” Magomed Daudov stated.
