Social network users demand apology for tourist's dance in dress at entrance to Grozny

The video showing a man in a pink dress dancing at the entrance to Grozny has outraged network users. Some commentators on the Instagram* insist that he should apologize for his behaviour; others indicated that tourists should be explained the rules of behaviour in Chechnya.

In the video a man in a dress with a tight bodice and in a translucent skirt is circling for several seconds to the music at the entrance to Grozny.

Some commentators have suggested that the dancer should apologize for this record. Others considered such videos to be the result of the development of tourism in the republic.

Let us remind you that the Chechen Tourism Ministry is regularly reminding tourists about the rules of conduct and dress codes that should be followed in the republic. Thus, in 2019, the ministry issued a memo, indicating how to dress and communicate with local women.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2019, a video appeared in social networks with an apology from a blogger from England, Benjamin, who visited Chechnya. He apologized for the phrase "Chechen chick." Caucasian scholars then noted that Chechnya was not very popular among foreigners; and the story of a popular blogger's public apology will push away the few travellers who had planned to visit the republic.
