Dagestanis make third of confirmed losses of SFD and NCFD in Ukraine

Since the start of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 552 fighters from Southern Russia have been officially confirmed as perished, including 378 natives of the North-Caucasian and 174 natives of the Southern Federal District (SFD and NCFD). Most of the dead are in Dagestan, the authorities reported the deaths of at least 188 natives of the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since March 25, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has failed to voice out the data on its losses, but regional authorities inform about deaths of their fellow countrymen.

The deaths of at least 378 residents of the NCFD have been officially confirmed, of which 188 casualties were natives of Dagestan, which is 34% of the total death toll in Ukraine.

Authorities have also reported the deaths of 80 natives of North Ossetia; 44 fighters from the Stavropol Territory; 26 natives of Kabardino-Balkaria; 22 residents of Chechnya; 13 natives of Ingushetia and five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia.

The authorities of the Volgograd Region have confirmed the deaths of 67 natives of the region; in the Krasnodar Region there were 37 casualties; and 30 – in the Rostov Region. The deaths of 28 natives of the Astrakhan Region, seven natives of Kalmykia and five fighters from Adygea were also confirmed.

It should be noted here that by May 20, more law enforcers from Northern Caucasus had perished in the military operation in Ukraine than during the last eight years of the armed conflict.

Earlier, analysts pointed to the absence of information on the death toll in Ukraine.
