The Moscow Times tells about military objectors from Dagestan

This March, a total of 300 servicemen from Buynaksk left Ukraine without permission; in Dagestan they were met as deserters. Some of them cancelled their contracts, others went back to Ukraine, The Moscow Times outlet has reported.

In March, a month after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, 300 military servicemen from the unit stationed in Buynaksk left Ukraine without permission, The Moscow Times wrote, citing two human rights defenders. According to the message, the servicemen had been in the area of the DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) and began terminating their contracts as soon as they reached Buynaksk.

"Now the military prosecutor's office is investigating the case," a military lawyer from Moscow, who was approached by contractors, told the outlet, adding that militaries claimed that they had problems with uniforms and weapons.

The militaries who arrived in Buynaksk were met as deserters; and immediately after their return, a meeting was held in the city with the participation of local authorities, militaries, the prosecutor's office and relatives, one of Caucasian human rights defenders told the outlet.

In the end, some of the militaries have quitted, while others, under pressure of their relatives and local authorities, recovered and after the hospital went back to Ukraine. It was not possible to talk to them, The Moscow Times has clarified.
