Oppositionist Alizamin Salaev’s son alarmed by condition of his father
Warders from an IVS (detention facility) did not let a son of oppositionist Alizamin Salaev, who is on hunger strike, to visit his father or talk to him via a phone. The law enforcement bodies are biased towards Alizamin Salaev, advocate Namizad Safarov believes.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 7, Alizamin Salaev, the chair of the Salyan regional department of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was arrested for 30 days. He has been on a hunger strike starting from July 7. However, today, he has refused water to protest against his arrest on the charge of failure to obey the police.
On July 15, activist’s son Ogtai Salaev could not get a permission to visit his father and receive official information about his father’s state of health.
“My father suffers from high blood sugar level, and the hunger strike exacerbates his condition,” Ogtai Salaev said.
He also added that, according to the advocate, an ambulance was called for the arrested oppositionist.
