Abdulmumin Gadjiev's arrest extended by three months

The Southern District Military Court has left Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist from the "Chernovik" (Draft) outlet, accused of financing terrorism, in custody until October 28.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gadjiev's colleagues treat the criminal case against him as persecution. They are regularly holding actions in his support. Gadjiev himself insists on his innocence. The indictment alleges that Abdulmumin Gadjiev, by means of his articles posted in the "Chernovik", "was spreading among the population the idea of the need to separate the republics of Northern Caucasus and establish the Sharia norms in this territory." It is also stated that he tried to "influence people's minds in order to involve them in terrorist activities."

On July 8, the Southern District Military Court extended Gadjiev's arrest until October 28, the "OVD-Info"* project has reported.
