Armenian and Azeri MoDs exchange accusations of shelling
Azerbaijan has shelled the Armenian positions and the road in the direction of the village of Elpin, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported. In its turn, its Azerbaijani counterpart has announced the shelling of its positions in the Kelbadjar District.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan are periodically blaming each other of shelling. Thus, on July 5, the Armenian MoD stated that Azeri militaries had shelled the border village of Khachik and damaged the car of the head of the community. The Azerbaijani MoD treated this information as untrue.
On July 7, at about 4:15 p.m. local time, Azerbaijani troops opened fire on the Armenian positions in the direction of the village of Elpin in the Vayotsdzor Region of Armenia; the road running to the village of Elpin was also shelled, the Armenian MoD has stated, adding that "a civilian car was damaged by shelling."
The positions of the Azerbaijani Army were shelled in the Kelbadjar direction, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated in its turn.
"As a result of the adequate response taken by the units of the Azerbaijani Army, the enemy was suppressed," the Azeri MoD reported in its statement.
