Chechen TV Channel shows a military camp of new MoD’s battalions

A five-storey building, in which finishing work is being carried out, will become the location of new Chechen battalions, and the buildings on the territory of the military camp require major repairs, the “Grozny” ChGTRK (State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) reports. Meanwhile, the “Grozny Inform” news agency has reported about the start of recruitment into the “Sever-Akhmat” and “Yug-Akhmat” battalions, arguing that all conditions had already been created for the militaries.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 26, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced that four military battalions – “Sever-Akhmat”, “Yug-Akhmat”, “Zapad-Akhmat”, and “Vostok-Akhmat” – would be formed in Chechnya and would include “exclusively Chechen guys.” Two battalions – “Vostok-Akhmat” and “Zapad-Akhmat” – have already been manned, the “Chechnya Segodnya” (Chechnya Today)” reported on June 28.

The future military town, where the new battalions will be stationed, was visited by Abdul-Kerim Edilov, the deputy chair of the Chechen government, as the “Grozny” ChGTRK reported on its Instagram* page on July 5. The video footage shows a box-like five-storey building with most of the windows not glazed, wires hanging down in corridors, and workers finishing the walls inside the building. “Now there are buildings on the territory of the military unit that require major repairs,” the report says.

The military commissariats of Chechnya have announced recruitment for service in the new battalions, which will consist exclusively of local residents, the “Grozny Inform” news agency reports with reference to one of the military commissariats of the republic. “All the necessary conditions have already been created for military service to be conducted by the militaries of the new battalions,” the “Grozny Inform” reported on July 5.

It should be noted that Internet users have repeatedly called on Ramzan Kadyrov to disclose the number of law enforcers and volunteers perished in Ukraine. So, on June 22, the leader of Chechnya reported the information about eight police officers perished in Ukraine, and in response, Telegram users wondered why the data on the number of deceased volunteers had not been disclosed.
