Resident of Novocherkassk fined for discrediting army

A court in Novocherkassk, Rostov Region, has fined a local resident for his comment in a social media criticizing the Z symbol and the people who use it. The human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported about this on its Telegram channel.

According to the court ruling, Alexei Blinov had posted pictures with the letter Z – the symbol of the special operation in Ukraine – and comments criticizing those who use this symbol. The court has ruled that the man had discredited the use of the Russian Armed Forces. Blinov himself has pleaded guilty and repented.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on May 20, a court in Semikarakorsk, a district centre in the Rostov Region, fined a local resident, Natalia Kirilyuk, under the article about discrediting the Russian Army for her post in the Odnoklassniki social network. The woman disagreed with the court ruling and appealed against it.
