Eight protesters arrested in Yerevan

A criminal case on organizing mass riots was instituted after the opposition held a protest action in front of the government building in Yerevan. Eight protestors were arrested, the Investigating Committee of Armenia reported.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that starting from April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding protests demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Today, the activists have resumed their marches in Yerevan. Protest leaders have put forward a number of demands to the authorities, including the inadmissibility of Nagorno-Karabakh joining Azerbaijan.

More than a dozen law enforcers were injured during the riots which occurred in the course of the protest actions, the press service for the Investigating Committee of Armenia reported.
