Peacemakers are poured over with gasoline and shelled in Georgia-South Ossetia conflict zone

According to preliminary information, the Georgian party has brought about 800 persons in civilian clothes to the border with Ossetian Khetagurovo village. They behaved extremely aggressively, started to pour gasoline over peacemakers and under a threat of setting fire tried to displace them off the location of the post. Now, military machinery is deployed there. About 10 units are already in place.

Marat Kulakhmetov, Commander of the Mixed Peacekeeping Forces (MPKF) in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone, and the joint monitoring group of peacemakers and representatives of the OSCE Mission are making their way to the place of the incident. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Yuri Vereschak, Assistant of the MPKF Commander for mass media contacts.

"In various areas of the conflict zone, where some of our posts are located, chaotic shooting from automatic weapons has been reported. We've not yet established those who are shooting," Yuri Vereschak told the "Interfax."

The aggravation of the situation at the peacemakers' post near the Ossetian Khetagurovo village was caused by the erection by the Georgian party of the Avnevi-Nikozi bypass road.

In this area, the Ossetian party was also building its Mugut-Tsunar bypass road. However, on June 15 an agreement was reached between the parties, under which both Georgia and South Ossetia stopped building their bypass roads. The Georgian party broke the agreement already twice - on June 27 and on June 28.
