Georgian PM rules out Saakashvili's transfer abroad for medical treatment

Poland is ready to provide Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili with the necessary treatment and send a plane to Georgia to pick him up, Giuli Alasaniya, the mother of the country's third president, has informed. However, Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian Prime Minister (PM) has treated the information about Saakashvili's grave health condition as a speculation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 27, doctors pointed to the aggravation of Mikhail Saakashvili's health condition. On May 12, Saakashvili was transferred from the Rustavi prison for examination to the "Vivamed" clinic in Tbilisi.

Poland has expressed its readiness to transport Mikhail Saakashvili to one of its clinics for conducting a course of treatment. Polish doctors have experience in treating such diseases; therefore, the country is ready to send an aircraft for Saakashvili, his mother Giuli Alasaniya said on May 13.

However, in the afternoon on May 13, the Georgian Premier, Irakli Garibashvili, even before the appearance of the information about Poland's readiness to receive Saakashvili, treated the demand to transfer him abroad for medical treatment as a "speculation" and noted that there were no grounds for this.
