Opposition organizes motor rallies demanding Pashinyan’s resignation

Today, the opposition movement “Resistance” has started several motor rallies in Yerevan. Participants call on residents of the city to come to a rally demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 10, during marches in Yerevan, 64 people were detained for failure to obey lawful demands of the police. When addressing foreign ambassadors at a rally in Yerevan, Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament, has said that Nikol Pashinyan cannot represent Armenia and the Armenian people and that the political crisis in the country will be resolved only by the Prime Minister’s resignation.

Today, at 12:00 a.m., in Yerevan, the activists started motor rallies in different directions, organized by the opposition movement “Resistance”.

The participants of the motor rallies set up the state flags of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in their cars and, honking, drove through the streets of Yerevan.

“We feel great support from our compatriots during various kinds of protest actions. Those who cannot attend the protest actions together with us are honking while passing by us, in solidarity with us,” Gegam Manukyan, an MP from the “Hayastan” bloc, a member of the ARF “Dashnaktsutyun”, noted on air of the “News.am”.

Gegam Manukyan has also added that oppositionists will continue to visit the regions of Armenia and call on residents to join the protest action demanding the Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation.
