"Immortal Regiment" marcher in Sochi arrested for five days

The court has sentenced Nikita Botberg, a Sochi resident, to five days of administrative arrest for disobeying policemen. A protocol was also drawn up against him on discrediting the Russian Army during the "Immortal Regiment" march.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 9, Nikita Botberg was detained in Sochi at the "Immortal Regiment" march, where he wrote a pacifist slogan over the portrait of his relative who had perished in the Great Patriotic War (World War II).

The court has arrested Nikita Botberg for five days, finding him guilty of disobeying policemen's lawful demands, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported.

Policemen have also drawn up a protocol against Nikita under the article on discrediting the Russian Army; the court has not considered the protocol yet, the outlet says.

*The project has been recognized as an unregistered association performing the functions of a foreign agent.
