Pashinyan’s opponents organize a march in support of Nagorno-Karabakh

Oppositionists and their supporters organized a march from the Tavush Region of Armenia to Yerevan. The activists demanded not to review the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 13, Nikol Pashinyan announced the possibility of “lowering the bar” on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, referring to the calls of the international community. The Nikol Pashinyan’s statement provoked outrage in Armenia, which resulted in protest actions. On April 22, Nikol Pashinyan announced that he ruled out signing any documents with Azerbaijan without public discussion with residents of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The opponents of Nikol Pashinyan organized a march from Idjevan to Yerevan, the “News-Armenia” reports today. According to Gegam Nazaryan, an MP from the “Armenia” opposition faction, who is taking part in the protest action, Idjevan is chosen because this section of the road connects Yerevan with Berd and Noyemberyan.

“Unfortunately, Armenia is now being ruled by the people who want to give Azerbaijan substantial territories behind our backs. That will never happen, we will not allow that, the people will not allow that,” Gegam Nazaryan said.
