Pashinyan's opponents spend night in Yerevan square

In Yerevan, several dozen oppositionists held their night protest against Nikol Pashinyan's policy towards Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "Airenik" Party and the head of the "I have the honour" parliamentary faction, and his supporters announced a round-the-clock protest action in Freedom Square in Yerevan. The activists set up tents, but law enforcers took the tents away, which resulted in a conflict and detention of four oppositionists.

Since April 16, during the daytime hours, an action of veterans of the Karabakh war has been held in the same square. They did not rule out that the action would also become a round-the-clock one. Participants in both actions support Karabakh and criticize Pashinyan's policies.

The MP Vanetsyan and his supporters have spent the night in Freedom Square, continuing to oppose the prime minister's statement about the possibility of lowering "the bar for demands on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh."

Oppositionists failed to set up a tent in the square. Reinforced police units were on duty near the venue, the TASS reports.
