Activists urge Pashinyan not to harm Nagorno-Karabakh in Brussels

On the eve of the Nikol Pashinyan’s meeting with Ilham Aliev in Brussels, activists held in Yerevan a rally with the demand to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. The participants of the rally demanded from the Nikol Pashinyan not to sign any documents that could worsen the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the rally took place before the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia. According to Armenian political analysts, the uncertainty of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh does not let conclude any fundamental agreements at the meeting between Ilham Aliev and Nikol Pashinyan, but it cannot be ruled out that a framework document would be signed.

Today, the “5165” national-conservative movement party has held a rally in front of the building of the Armenian government in Yerevan. Activists have noted that their goal is to draw the attention of the people of Armenia to the situation in Karabakh and unite the people around the agenda. Organizers of the rally believe that the intelligentsia, including teachers, doctors, and scientists, can play an important role in the above.

Nikol Pashinyan should know that only residents of Karabakh may decide its fate, and no one has the right to sign on their behalf any document denoting that Karabakh is a part of Azerbaijan, emphasizes Menua Sogomonyan, a member of the movement.

According to him, Armenia may become a guarantor of the Karabakh’s security only after the recognition of the republic.

It is important that all the Armenians of the world come out in support of Karabakh, Karin Tonoyan, a member of the movement, emphasizes. The activist urges not to give up because of one lost war.
