Kadyrov criticizes "priority scale" of Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin press secretary

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, failed to comment on the awarding of the rank of lieutenant general to him, but called the TV presenter, Ivan Urgant, "a great patriot."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, announced that Kadyrov had been awarded the military rank of lieutenant general on March 28.

"It turns out that in order to become a patriot, one must criticize Russia's actions, go abroad ... and then, when the confrontation degree falls, return back as if nothing had happened ... Ivan Urgant did something like this, for which he received a 'great patriot' rating from Peskov," Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The fact that there is no need to criticize Ivan Urgant, a presenter of Russian Channel One, was stated by Peskov in his interview with the "Belarus-1" TV Channel. "I know Urgant very well; he is a great patriot. He may have his own viewpoint," the RIA "Novosti" quoted Peskov as saying. It should be noted that since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, many Russian stars have flown abroad. Many Russian residents treated it as a betrayal of the motherland, although Ivan Urgant asserted that he had left on vacation, the "Vechernyaya Moskva" reports.

Kadyrov has added that, together with law enforcers and volunteers, he is busy with the special operation "day and night."

Earlier, Kadyrov criticized Vladimir Medinsky, a presidential assistant and the head of the Russian delegation at the talks on Ukraine. Thus, he is trying to curry favour with Putin, claiming to improve his importance, Dmitry Oreshkin, a political analyst, has noted.
