Gas supply cut off in Nagorno-Karabakh

Residents of Askeran, and then of other dwelling settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh, are without gas today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 23, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) accused Azerbaijan of "humanitarian terrorism" because of the cessation of gas supply. It was resumed on March 28, but residents of Stepanakert expressed fear that this was temporary, and that the Azerbaijani party would use the gas pipeline passing through its territory from Armenia for their own aims.

The gas supply was cut off today before noon, first in the city of Askeran, and then in other dwelling settlements. The reasons are being specified, an employee of the "Artsakh Gas" Company told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

As of 11:45 a.m. Moscow time today, the government of Nagorno-Karabakh had not commented on the situation with the gas supply.
