Refugees from Donbass begin to leave Sukhumi
Thirty-seven refugees from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics have gone by train from Sukhumi to the Rostov Region, from there they will be taken home, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Abkhazia reports today.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 2, the MfE of Abkhazia reported about 118 refugees from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in Abkhazia.
Thirty-seven refugees from Donbass went home. Of them, 34 people left for the Lugansk People’s Republic, and three to the Donetsk People’s Republic, the press service for the MfE of Abkhazia reports today. The express train “Sukhumi-Moscow; will transport them to Kamensk-Shakhtinsk in the Rostov Region. “From there, specially organized buses will bring them to places of permanent residence,” the MfE of Abkhazia reports on its official website.
According to the MfE’s report, 90 refugees from Donbass still stay in the republic.
The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that on February 25, President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and instructed the government to start preparing for the signing of agreements on friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance.
