Nagorno-Karabakh accuses Azerbaijan of shelling village with grenade launchers

Last night, the Azerbaijani armed forces shelled the village of Khramort in the Askeran District from grenade launchers, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh reported. The village has been under fire for several days already, and the authorities must take measures to stop shelling attacks, a local resident says.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 7, Azerbaijan announced that its positions were being shelled by the military of Nagorno-Karabakh. Karabakh denied the information and reported about a shelling attack on the village of Khramort. On March 8, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan reported about a shelling attack on its positions from the territory where Russian peacekeepers were deployed.

The Askeran District of Nagorno-Karabakh is located in the territories of the Khodjaly and Agdam Districts of Azerbaijan.

“Grenade launchers have been shelling the village for a couple of days already. Over the past year and a half, we have become accustomed to shelling attacks from submachine guns or machine guns, and now grenade launchers are being used. It is a pure chance that there are no casualties till now. I hope the law enforcement bodies and Russian peacekeepers will take measures so that we continue living in peace,” said Goar Grigoryan, a resident of the Khramort village.
