Azerbaijan claims shootout in Nagorno-Karabakh

Last night, the positions of Azerbaijani militaries located in the Goranboy District were shelled from the territory controlled by Nagorno-Karabakh, after which a return fire was opened, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Baku and Yerevan are regularly exchanging accusations of shelling. Thus, on March 3, Azerbaijan stated that Armenian soldiers shelled the positions of Azerbaijani militaries deployed in the Tovuz District, after which a return fire was opened.

Last night, the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the Goranboy District were shelled, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated today. "On March 5, from 00:40 a.m. to 00:50 a.m. from the territory where Russian peacemakers are temporarily deployed, the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of the Gulistan settlement of the Goranboy District were shelled," the MoD said in a statement sent to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Azerbaijani militaries opened a return fire; there were no dead or wounded among them, the MoD has added.
