Nemtsov's anti-war activities was main memory of him on his murder anniversary

The situation in Ukraine and possible consequences thereof became the main discussion topic among those who gathered on February 27 in central Moscow on the bridge where the politician Boris Nemtsov was shot dead seven years ago.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Boris Nemtsov had an anti-war stance, and in 1996, he brought a million signatures against the war in Chechnya to Russian President, the Nemtsov's widow recalled on the seventh anniversary of his assassination amid the military conflict in Ukraine.

Russian politician Boris Nemtsov was shot dead in Moscow on February 27, 2015. In 2017, the court found five natives of Chechnya guilty of committing the murder, and sentenced them to prison terms ranging from 11 to 20 years.

Since the morning on February 27, the ascent to the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge from the Kremlin Embankment was blocked by the police. The place of Boris Nemtsov's assassination could only be reached from the side of Vasilievsky Spusk Square.

Among those who came there were young and elderly people of different social groups. The overwhelming majority of them spoke with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the situation in Ukraine, and that Nemtsov had foreseen such a future.

"Today I am here as a citizen of Russia, who demands to stop the conflict in Ukraine in the context of Boris' murder ... Nemtsov had warned that if [...] you act aggressively, you cannot avoid an open bloody conflict," Elina Sergeeva, an employee of a travel company, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
