More than 6400 medics oppose war in Ukraine

Hundreds of Russian doctors have signed an open letter to President Vladimir Putin demanding an end to hostilities in Ukraine, the "Meduza"* has reported.

The appeal is posted on the "Google Docs" website and is available for editing upon request. As of February 27, the letter entitled "Open letter to the President of the Russian Federation on behalf of Russian doctors, nurses, doctor's assistants and paramedics with a demand to stop hostilities in the territory of Ukraine", is accompanied by 6413 signatures of doctors and the medical staff.

"We, Russian doctors, nurses, doctor's assistants and paramedics, strongly oppose the military actions carried out by the Russian Armed Forces in the territory of Ukraine. We don't look for those guilty and don't judge anyone. Our vocation is to preserve human lives. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine a more humane profession than the medical profession. And now, in this difficult time for both countries, we call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and for the resolution of all political issues exclusively by peaceful means. As at all times, we don't divide the warring into friends and foes. We swore an oath to help to all people," the letter to Vladimir Putin says.
