Woman from Alagir pickets demanding inquiry into her son's murder

The participants in the conflict, as a result of which Kazbek Kamarzaev, a resident of Alagir, was killed, can evade responsibility, since the only figurant has remained in the case, the casualty's mother has stated at her picket.

On February 18, a solo picket in the centre of the North-Ossetian city of Alagir was held by Eva Kamarzaeva, whose son Kazbek Kamarzaev was killed in February 2020. She was holding a poster reading: "Prosecutor of the Alagir District, answer! Why is the accused under house arrest?" the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who visited the venue, has reported.

The woman has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she demands an objective investigation and punishment of those responsible for her son's murder. According to Ms Kamarzaeva, she fears that the case will be "hushed up."

She has explained that her son "had prevented the sale of drugs." "He didn't want them to sell pills to the youth. He drove around the city; everyone knew his car; he wanted the boys [...] not to be put on drugs. [...] He had a goal – the Alagir District without narcotic drugs," the picketer has explained.

"They made an ambush against my son; all those involved have escaped punishment [...] at first, several people were wanted, but now the only accused figurant in the case [...] is under house arrest," the woman said.
