Supporters of Kadyrov respond with a flash mob to a petition for his resignation
About 400 posts with the hashtag # YapekhotinetsKadyrova (“I’m Kadyrov’s infantryman) appeared on Instagram as part of a flash mob launched by an assistant to the leader of Chechnya. The petition for Ramzan Kadyrov’s resignation has already gained 200,000 signatures.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 6, a petition addressed to Vladimir Putin was posted on the website “Change.org” by opposition politician Ilya Yashin. The votes under the petition can be gained through bots, so the Kremlin does not take it seriously, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov says. According to political analysts, the Kremlin approves the Ramzan Kadyrov’s policy in Chechnya and will not dismiss him, despite the popularity of the petition initiated by Ilya Yashin.
Ramzan Kadyrov has repeatedly called himself in public a “Putin’s infantryman.” So, in April 2015, the leader of Chechnya announced that he was subordinate to President Putin and was ready to leave the post if necessary.
On February 9, a flash mob under the hashtag #YapekhotinetsKadyrova was launched on Instagram by Umar Daudov, an assistant to Ramzan Kadyrov.
“Almost all Chechen officials and law enforcers, as well as State Duma members from the region and official Instagram accounts of public institutions of the republic, joined the flash mob,” the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports.
