Chechens living in France report compatriot's death after deportation

Daud Muradov, deported to Russia from France, has died, the Assembly of European Chechens (AEC) has informed on the Facebook. The Assembly has recalled that the deportation of Chechens is on a stream, and called on the French authorities to protect emigrants' rights.

The AEC intends to enforce French law enforcement agencies to fix Muradov's death treated by the AEC as violent.

The AEC has stated the "despair in which the Chechens who have found refuge in France and other European countries" are, because they are "systematically" deported to Russia. The AEC has called on the French authorities to "return to the protection of human rights." The statement makes a reservation that "it is possible that some deportees had indeed committed misconduct or crimes, especially young ones, but it is unacceptable to deport them to Russia contrary to the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and warnings from human rights organizations."

According to the Telegram channel, which is oppositional to Chechen authorities, Daud Muradov left for France at the age of 15. French authorities detained him when he turned 18 and placed him into a deportation prison. He was deported to Russia in the summer of 2021 and accused of a terrorist attack and facilitating terrorist activities.
