On January 24-30, 2022, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week of January 24-30, 2022, no killed or wounded in the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot” based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
Hostage-taking case in Vladikavkaz submitted to court
On January 24, it was reported that a case against a 53-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz, accused of taking hostages, was sent to court. According to the investigators’ version, on April 12, 2021, threatening with a dummy explosive device, the man held store employees and visitors, including two children, hostage for about an hour.
The man is charged under Part 2 of Article 206 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking hostages with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons against two or more persons, including minors). The defendant faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.
