Ibragim Yangulbaev responds to Kadyrov's accusation of cowardice
In his video address to Ramzan Kadyrov, Ibragim Yangulbaev, a blogger, has recalled his oppositional activities when he lived in Chechnya. According to his story, he was detained twice and tortured, but he didn't stop criticizing local authorities.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 22, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, accused the Yangulbaevs of supporting terrorism and called on law enforcers to detain and punish or execute the entire family. On January 24, he invited Yangulbaevs to come to Chechnya to fetch their mother.
On his Instagram, Ibragim Yangulbaev posted his address to the head of Chechnya.
"Since you state that I've got afraid of you, then why, while in Chechnya, in 2015, I publicly criticized you, created social groups, and met activists. I did it publicly, without hiding from anyone. I was kidnapped and tortured. I spent six months in basement. I came out ... and continued my activities. A year later, you kidnapped me again and tortured me. Am I afraid of? No, I'm not. I spoke at the ECtHR (European Court of Human Rights)," the blogger has stated.
Let us remind you that as of January 18, a total of 11 persons out of the list of kidnapped relatives had been still in detention. Given the information about the abducted Zarema Musaeva, the Yangulbaev brother's mother, at least 11 family members of Kadyrov's critics are still kept in detention in Chechnya.
