Krasnodar journalist claims beating up by law enforcers

Vladislav Kramskoy, a journalist, has stated that he was beaten up by law enforcers after he asked them to show their IDs and introduce themselves. As a result, he not only received traumas, but a protocol was drawn up against him for disobeying a law enforcer's lawful demand.

According to Mr Kramskoy, in the evening on January 20, in the dwelling settlement of Severny in Krasnodar, law enforcers approached him at a bus stop and asked to show his documents, but they themselves refused to show their IDs. Then, the journalist phoned 102, but when he spoke to the on duty officer, he was attacked.

"He [the law enforcer] choked me with his hand; and began fainting … The other one came up … and began beating me up with his hands … They asked who I was to demand documents from them," the "Yuga.ru" outlet quotes Vladislav Kramskoy as saying.

According to his story, after the beating, he was taken to the police station, where he spent the night and received threats from law enforcers if he would make the incident public. He has noted that after the attack, his lip was damaged and a part of his tooth was chipped off; his head hurt and his cheek was swollen. "I've documented the beatings," the journalist has added.

During his detention, his phone was taken away and the video of the incident was erased, the "Kuban Today" has clarified.

After the incident, they drew up a protocol against Kramskoy on disobedience to law enforcer's lawful demand, the "Interfax-South" reports with reference to Victoria Vashurina, his advocate.
