Kadyrov voiced direct threats against Yangulbaev family
The head of Chechnya has confirmed that Zarema Yangulbaeva had been taken to Grozny and stated that the woman had already "earned an article for herself." The Yangulbaevs are waiting for a place "in prison or in the ground," Kadyrov has threatened.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, the "Committee against Torture" (CaT) reported that Zarema Yangulbaeva, the wife of the Russian federal judge, Saidi Yangulbaev, was abducted, in the unconscious state, and taken away in cars with license plates with the region code corresponding to Chechnya.
On January 21, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, posted threats against the Yangulbaev family in his Telegram channel.
According to his version, until January 20, summons had been sent to Yangulbaevs for three times. "The operative action of policemen from the Chechen Republic (...) was agreed with their local colleagues," the head of Chechnya has explained.
Zarema Yangulbaeva has been brought to Chechnya, Kadyrov has confirmed. "Today, after she was taken to Grozny, she attacked a policeman and nearly hit his eye out. Thus, she already has a criminal article for a real prison term," says Kadyrov's message.
Then, he addressed threats against the entire family. "It turns out that one of Yangulbaevs' sons is making direct and open threats against me. Competent authorities will deal with this person," Kadyrov has promised, also demanding to deprive Saidi Yangulbaev of the status of a federal judge "Why is Saidi Yangulbaev, (...) who shamefully escaped from Grozny, still a judge with an active status? I appeal to the Supreme Court of Russia to take measures to expel Yangulbaev from the ranks of judges, kick him out of the reserve and completely erase his name from the history of the judicial body, so as not to discredit it," Kadyrov has stressed.
He finished with direct threats. "I declare that this family is waiting for a place either in prison or in the ground," Ramzan Kadyrov has summed up.
