Tumso reports release of all kidnapped relatives

All the relatives of Tumso Abdurakhmanov, kidnapped in Chechnya in December, are back at large, according to the blogger. The "Vayfond" Association has unconfirmed information about the release of the relatives of Mansur Sadulaev, its founder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 22-24, 2021, Kadyrov's critics Tumso Abdurakhmanov, Minkail Malizaev and Khasan Khalitov reported about the kidnapping of their relatives living in Chechnya, as well as of relatives of Mansur Sadulaev, the founder of the "Vayfond" Association, and of Aslan Artsuev, the director of the "Ichkeria" Human Rights Centre. On December 25, 2021, it became known about the kidnapping of 37 relatives of Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer of the "Committee against Torture" (CaT); later some of them were released.

On January 17, Tumso Abdurakhmanov announced in his Telegram channel that all his relatives had been released. The blogger recalled that some of his relatives had been held hostage since December 22.

"I know nothing about their health condition and terms of their release," Abdurakhmanov said in his statement, adding that all those released stay in Chechnya.

The Telegram channel of the "Vayfond" has confirmed the information about the release of all Tumso's relatives.

"So far, according to unconfirmed reports, all the relatives of Mansur Sadulaev, the "Vayfond" founder, have also been released," the Association's post asserts.
