Instagram users ridicule decoration of Kadyrov with human rights medal

Ramzan Kadyrov has unreasonably ranked himself among human rights defenders by accepting the medal "Honoured Human Rights Defender of the Chechen Republic", social network users have pointed out. Many of them have noted that the Chechen Ombudsperson had encouraged Kadyrov after the mass kidnappings of relatives of critics of the Chechen leadership.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov and his parents were awarded medals "Honoured Human Rights Defender of the Chechen Republic". Earlier, on December 25, Ramzan Kadyrov's daughter, Minister of Culture of Chechnya, Aishat Kadyrova, was decorated with a medal "For the Defence of Human Rights."

Most social network commentators have ridiculed the awarding of the head of Chechnya.

"As they say, no one will praise you if you don't do it yourself," the user cosmetolog_pimka has written.

Some users drew attention to the fact that the awarding took place amid reports about mass kidnappings of relatives of those who criticize Chechen authorities.

Earlier, in August 2018, Kadyrov treated the human rights defenders who had criticized the work of law enforcers after the attacks on policemen committed in the republic as enemies of the residents of Chechnya. He put human rights defenders on a par with militants and banned them to visiting Chechnya.
