Russia pays compensation to the person deported from Kabardino-Balkaria

In performance of the decision of the European Court for Human Rights, the government of Russia has transferred eight thousand euros to the personal account of Turkish citizen Hadj Bairam Bolat who had been earlier deported from Kabardino-Balkaria.

Mr. Hadj Bairam Bolat appealed to the European Court for Human Rights against the fact of his deportation from Kabardino-Balkaria in 2003, and in October 2006 the European Court recognized that the Russian law enforcement bodies had violated the Articles of the European Convention on Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms concerning the freedom of movement and guarantees in case of deportation of a foreigner.
