In Chechnya, course of lessons about Akhmat Kadyrov provokes irony among Internet users
A textbook about Akhmat Kadyrov has been included in the school curriculum in Chechnya. The book is written by a local law enforcer and tells about the life of the elder Kadyrov, the “Grozny” TV Channel reports. Blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov compared the Akhmat Kadyrov’s personality cult to the Lenin’s personality cult during the Soviet era.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in Chechnya, the authorities began to create the cult of Akhmat Kadyrov immediately after his death in 2004. This year, the trend continued, and many actions were timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of Akhmat Kadyrov’s birth.
“As a guide for schoolchildren, the textbook tells about the first significant moments of the life path to peace and creation of the first president of the Chechen Republic,” stated an author of the report on the “Grozny” TV Channel.
Amrudi Edilov, an author of the textbook, an employee of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), said that he decided to write it after the Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement about the importance of educating the younger generation.
In their comments on social media, most users reacted with irony to the information about the inclusion of the textbook about Akhmat Kadyrov in the school curriculum in Chechnya.
“Every Chechen knows who is a hero for him. Our heroes do not need to be described in books: they are in our hearts, and we pass this knowledge on from generation to generation,” user Abu Abdullax1 wrote.
