Blogger from Dagestanskie Ogni reports details of attack on him

Ramis Agabekov, an activist, has complained to the police about the attack on him. The blogger claims that he was beaten up for publishing posts in social networks about the sale of school land in the city of Dagestanskie Ogni.

Ramis Agabekov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he was attacked after he had placed a post about a search in the house of Bulat Taibov, a former employee of the city administration.

Earlier, Taibov sent a letter to the heads of law enforcement bodies, in which he reported on the sale of a municipal land plot in Dagestanskie Ogni at a reduced cost. The land plot having area of 3008 square meters with a cadastral value of over 10 million roubles was sold for 760,000 roubles; the plot is located in the territory of School No. 3.

"We have no direct proofs, but we can assume that the criminal case against Taibov and the search of his home were undertaken as a revenge for his repeated messages sent to the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) and President, stating that officials wanted to sell a part of the school territory," the blogger Agabekov has suggested.

"Besides, I also received threats through third persons demanding not to get involved in this case; otherwise they would deal with me – beat me up and plant drugs on me," the blogger has added.
