Analysts explain victories of Kadyrov's sons in boxing by demonstration of power

Ramzan Kadyrov's sons are fighting in tournaments as the head of Chechnya is trying to demonstrate his power. His sons' victories are guaranteed regardless of the type of event and despite the fact that this brings Kadyrov more criticism than promotion, analysts have noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 4, Kadyrov's son Eli became the winner of a duel at the "Time of Legends-7" boxing tournament in Grozny. Social network users have suggested that Eli's victory was predictable, since his rival had succumbed. After the tournament, a nephew of the head of Chechnya said that he owed the victory to Ramzan Kadyrov.

The reason for holding "strange fights" by Kadyrov's sons is that for Kadyrov and his entourage "the most important thing is always to win," Alexei Malashenko, a political analyst, believes.

A similar opinion was expressed by Svetlana Gannushkina, the chair of the "Civil Assistance" Committee*. "Apart from the fact that Kadyrov just likes it, such actions should convince people that Kadyrov and his relatives are always the winners," she said.

Kadyrov and his entourage pay no attention to criticism of such actions, Ms Gannushkina has added.

The fights of Kadyrov's sons are aimed at convincing the society that children of Chechen leaders are talented, a specialist in promotion technologies in the sports sphere has suggested. "But you can't fool the society – people see everything," he has noted.
