Amid incident with maroon berets, blogger Tumso recalls failures of Chechen special forces

The scam when passing tests for maroon berets has confirmed the unprofessionalism of Chechen special fighters, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has stated recalling the death of a person during the shelling of the House of Press in Grozny.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this October a conflict broke out among servicemen of the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) when conducting tests for obtaining maroon berets. The "Vityaz" fighters stated that law enforcers from Chechnya had received maroon berets undeservedly.

Ramzan Kadyrov will spark a sharply negative attitude to himself in the army, if he fails to severely punish the fraudsters. However, the Akhmat Kadyrov Fund has awarded Mercedes Benz cars to two of the seven law enforcers who had received maroon berets after the doubtful tests.

Tumso Abdurakhmanov has recalled the seizure of the Grozny Press House by militants in 2014. Instead of storming the building, Chechen law enforcers had bombed it, not caring about the safety of the civilians who could stay in the building.

YouTube commentators have expressed their negative attitude towards Russian special fighters in general; some of them noted that granting maroon berets amid scandals is devaluing this sign of merit.
