Chechen Speaker's statement triggers persecution of social network users
After Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, criticized the users of the TikTok and Bigo Live, a public has appeared on the Instagram containing threats to particular users of these services.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Mr Daudov treated only discussions of "serious topics" as admissible, and called on relatives and local officials to "deal with" the users of TikTok and Bigo Live services, who were running "empty talks" on these services.
After that, a community appeared on the Instagram demanding from a girl to remove her photos that "defame the nation's honour." The public has posted four photos where the girl's face is smeared.
"As long as you call yourselves Chechen men or women, you must abide by the general rules of conduct," the authors insist, adding: "We'll not allow you to trample on the dignity and honour of our nation with your behaviour!"
Commentators have suggested starting with affecting beauty salons. "Forbid injections and salons that release girls like incubators!" the user shamilana has suggested.
The oppositional 1ADAT Telegram channel has compared Daudov's initiative with the fight against windmills. They recalled that a similar movement named "Carthage" "had fought for this very morality."
"There is no and there will never be any struggle for morality on the part of Kadyrov people, because they will never fight with themselves," the channel's authors assert, adding that "all these people, against whom they allegedly intend fighting there, are a product of their system."
