Speaker of Chechen Parliament threatens active social network users

Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, has sharply criticized the residents of the republic, who are broadcasting live in social networks. He believes that only discussion of "serious topics" is acceptable in social networks, and urged relatives and local officials to "deal with" the users of the services "TikTok" and "Bigo Live", who are engaged in "empty conversations".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Chechen TV is regularly issuing reports containing with reproaches and apologies of residents for various deeds, among other things, for posts in social networks, while Ramzan Kadyrov and his associates are voicing threats against authors of negative materials about the region, and against those who "violate norms of the Chechen morality."

Speaker Daudov has stated on the Instagram that "other nationals are already surprised" and are "shaming" the Chechens who spend their time on live broadcasts. He has also criticized the girls who communicate with men on air.

"It's one thing when serious topics are discussed: sciences or sports, but empty talks on some trifles and obscene things are unacceptable," Mr Daudov has noted.

Some commentators have also suggested banning social media and punishing those who are abusing video chats.

"It's high time to do this ... sometimes I feel ashamed for them; some members of our nation behave no better on the Instagram," the user madina_turlueva has written.
