Blogger Khalitov accuses Chechen authorities of organizing blood feud

Khasan Khalitov, a critic of Ramzan Kadyrov, claims that the republic’s authorities stand behind a series of declarations of blood feud in Chechnya.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Khasan Khalitov, a critic of the Chechen authorities, living in Turkey, and Ilman Mamakaev, who migrated to the EU, reported that Chechen law enforcers kidnapped their relatives living in the republic and Moscow for several days in early September. At the same time, Akhmad Arsanukaev, a resident of Chechnya, declared blood feud on four families at once, including the Khalitovs, the Mamakaevs, the Naurbaevs, and the Azhievs.

Blogger Khasan Khalitov recorded a video message to Ramzan Kadyrov, in which he claimed that Akhmed Arsanukaev was not an initiator of blood feud. “Do you really think that people do not understand who the organizer of the performance with the declaration of blood revenge on me is?!” Khasan Khalitov asks Ramzan Kadyrov. According to Khasan Khalitov, the declaration of blood feud was organized by the Chechen authorities in order, if necessary, to blame the murder of Khasan Khalitov’s relatives on the Arsanukaevs.

Khasan Khalitov also claims that his 80-year-old father was kidnapped for a day and required to disavow his son.

The blogger urged Ramzan Kadyrov to send his representative to Turkey for a personal meeting. “Be a man, leave our old men, and do not encroach on the honour of our mothers. Fight those who are at war with you. You know where I am <...>. Here I have no bodyguards <...>. Come and make it clear if you have any claims,” says Khasan Khalitov while addressing the leader of Chechnya.
