Today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in Volgograd on the occasion of the solemn handover of eleven banners of military units and subunits that participated in the Battle of Stalingrad. The ceremony has taken place in the Hall of Military Glory on the Mamayev Kurgan, the “Vysota 102” (Height 102) reports.
At his meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Volgograd, the Russian Foreign Minister has claimed that the criticism of Stalin is part of an attack on the results of World War II and, in general, on the historical past of Russia.
