Bird's flu not confirmed in Krasnodar Territory
Poultry mortality cases registered in a number of districts of Krasnodar Territory have nothing to do with the bird's flu infection. This is the conclusion of laboratory tests of the samples taken in the areas of supposed disease outbreak. A source at the Russian Agriculture Supervision Authority ("Rosselkhoznadzor") of Krasnodar Territory has informed the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" about it.
"After poultry death cases, a monitoring was started in the Anapa, Yeisk and Scherbinovka Districts, which made it possible to state the absence of any mass mortality. Moreover, the analysis was held, which has not revealed any H5N1 virus," Yulia Ananko, press secretary of the head of the "Rosselkhoznadzor," has explained.
In her words, there is no threat of any bird's flu epidemic. All the necessary measures are underway, including shooting of wild birds. Therefore, introduction of quarantine in Krasnodar Territory can be thought to be premature.
