CTO regime lifted in KBR

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime introduced in Nalchik and Baksan has been lifted, the regional operative headquarters has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on July 3, the CTO regime was introduced in Nalchik and later, in Baksan. The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported on liquidation of five militants. This CTO was the first one conducted in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) over the past year.

According to law enforcers, alleged militants were blocked in a house located in the territory of a gardening partnership in a suburb of the city of Nalchik. They were offered to lay down their arms and surrender, but opened fire in response. As a result, militants were liquidated, the operative headquarters has reported.
