Father of murdered Gasanguseinov shepherds welcomes judgement on complaint against investigator

The court ruling to satisfy the complaint about the refusal to initiate a criminal case against law enforcers gives hope to bring those responsible for killing Gasanguseinov brothers to justice, their father has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 28, the Makhachkala court satisfied the complaint about the investigator's refusal to initiate a case against the former police division boss, who had reported that Gasanguseinov brothers-shepherds were killed as militants.

By means of his numerous protest actions, Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the father of the killed brothers, achieved the initiation of a criminal case on the killing in a special operation in August 2016 of his sons, Nabi and Gasangusein, aged 17 and 19 years, accordingly. The brothers' parents and fellow villagers insist that the young men were shepherds and simply grazed cattle in the mountains.

Murtazali Gasanguseinov intends to bring those responsible for killing his sons to justice, so that such cases never happen in future in Dagestan.

The court decision does not oblige investigators to initiate a criminal case, Shamil Magomedov, an advocate, believes. He has suggested that now a new check will be appointed, as a result of which a new refusal to initiate a case against law enforcers can be issued.
