Makhachkala: activist achieves fine cancellation

A Makhachkala court has sent for a new consideration the case against the activist, Diana Dibirova, who in April was detained before the action in support of Alexei Navalny and fined for petty hooliganism.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 21, Makhachkala hosted an action in support of Alexei Navalny – activists unfolded posters in his support. Law enforcers detained five girls, and then two more protesters. Diana Dibirova, who had been detained even before the start of the action, was released after fined for petty hooliganism.

According to her story, she, a student of the Dagestan Art School, was taken away during classes; and at the police station she was given a warning against participation in illegal actions. "The warning stated that I was allegedly going to participate in the action (on April 21). I explained that I was not going to go anywhere and refused to sign it. After that they began saying that they would punish me by 15 days in custody for petty hooliganism. They drew up a protocol that I had cursed policemen and fined me by 500 roubles," Diana said.
