HRC "Memorial' demands to investigate kidnapping of Argun resident

Akraman Tataev, a resident of the city of Argun, was kidnapped by law enforcers and ill-treated; he is exhausted and on the verge of suicide, his mother has stated.

Marem Salamova, the mother, has turned to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" with an appeal to help "saving her son." According to her version, the 26-year-old Tataev was detained on April 23 at the hospital, where he came with his pregnant wife.

Akraman has not been released yet; and no formal charges have been brought against him. His relatives haven't gone anywhere, as they were afraid to harm him. They had hoped that Akraman would be released, since he violated no, that it was a misunderstanding or "the usual prophylaxis in Chechnya before the holiday." The appeal to the HRC "Memorial is a gesture of despair: relatives fear for Akraman's life.

In 2015, Akraman was already kidnapped by Chechen law enforcers; then, they kept his for about two months and released, the Telegram channel "1Adat" reported on April 30.
